Naidu lays foundation stone for Electronics Park in AP

Ananthapuramu, Apr 21 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today laid the foundation stone for the Elcina Raaga Mayuri Electronics Park at Chilamattur village in Ananthapuramu district in the Rayalaseema region of the state.

The Park, which will come up on a 50-acre site on the National Highway close to Bengaluru, will be the largest electronics manufacturing cluster in the country, state government officials said.
Taken up in collaboration with Electronic Industries Association of India (Elcina), the park will be developed by the KJR Group which has already entered into memorandum of understanding with several manufacturers for setting up electronic component manufacturing units for defense, aerospace and other sectors.

An initial investment of Rs 350 crore is expected for these units while the overall investment may touch Rs 2,000 crore when the Park is fully developed.
The state government will create infrastructure like roads, power and water supply and also establish a training centre, an official release said.
The Electronics Park will have high-rise buildings of 30 to 35 floors each and provide employment to thousands of people, it added.
About 10,000 persons are expected to secure jobs in the first phase and the total employment could be 40,000 once the Park is fully ready in the next couple of years.

Raaga Mayuri Park Set To Get 8 Electronic Units

Seeks to turn Anantapur into a hub for electronic products for defence, aerospace sectors

ELCINA Raaga Mayuri Electronics Park being developed by KJR group in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh is likely to attract over eight units that will make electronic components for defence and aerospace sectors, among others.
Taken up in collaboration with Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA), the 50-acre industrial park, located alongside National Highway – 7 (Hyderabad – Bengaluru stretch) at Chilamathur village near Hindupur, has already attracted three units that will bring in investments to the tune of Rs 100 cr.

“Mysore-based Vinyas IT has come forward to set up two units. One of it will be by DCX, its joint venture with the US-based company. They make hind-end wires for defence and aerospace sector. We are in the process of finalising agreements with other companies,” K J Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, KJR Group, told The Hans India.

Vinyas Innovation Technologies, a significant player in electronic manufacturing services (EMS), supplies electronic components to three Israel-based defence companies which provide equipment to Indian defence forces.

“Presence of Vinyas IT and similar players is sure to turn Ananthapur district into hub for electronic products for defence and aerospace as they can attract several ancillary units,” Reddy explained. According to him, the eight units will bring in a total investment of Rs 300 to Rs 350 crore and some of them will manufacture products such as LED lights.
KJR Group is spending close to Rs 50 crore on developing infrastructure at the electronics park, among the first ones in the private sector in the country, which can eventually accommodate 25 to 30 units with cumulative investments running into around Rs 1,000 crore.

“We expect entire space in our electronics park to get filled in next three years as many companies are showing interest in setting up units here,” he said. The park has already received in-principle approval from Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), a part of Union Ministry of Telecommunications & IT.

It enjoys well-connected location advantage as it’s just 65 km away from the Bengaluru International Airport. “With companies like Vinyas IT, a leading supplier to Israel companies, coming to the park, we are planning to visit Israel soon to attract investments from that country,” said K Bhaskar Reddy of KJR Group.

According to him, efforts are underway to set up an incubation centre at the park to attract young entrepreneurs. “We are approaching the Andhra Pradesh government with the proposal to set up the centre here. We will offer land for the facility,” he said. The incubation centre requires Rs 5 crore investment.
